About

Hi!

My name is Amber and this here is my blog.  Welcome to it. I had one other blog before, which focused on the books I read. It was great fun, but eventually as life got busier I chose to let it go. Now, I am back to document life in general, at a rate of approximately three times a week.

You can expect this blog to cover an array of different subjects, depending on where my fascination lies at the moment. And my fascination can change at a whim, so be sure to keep checking back.

During the Spring and Summer I expect this space will be heavy on gardening and cooking and canning. In the Fall and Winter, I turn to indoor activities like making over our extremely old house (it was built in 1900), sewing and cooking. (It turns out, I like food no matter what time of year it is!) We don't have a lot of money, so most of this stuff is undertaken as a Do It Yourself project.

When I say "we" I am referring to my hubby and I. We have been married since 2006 and life is so much better with him in it.  He is my best friend and the ultimate side kick. When he is not building me a grow light for my seedlings or hanging another piece of art work for me, he can be found on This Earth Nature Blog. We love the outdoors, whether we are in our back yard, or exploring a state park. His love for the earth and sustainable living makes me a better person.

Other bits: I am an oldest child. We have one cat, her name is Luna, but I call her Tuna, she doesn't seem to mind. I love to read, but I don't do it nearly as much as I used to. My voice is so soft most people can't hear me. I always have music playing. I have loved green vegetables more than any other food since as long as I can remember loving food. A luxury vacation to me, is anywhere by water. I think more people should support the public library system, I think I should support it better than I do. I am crazy about trees, especially quaking aspens. I prefer hot weather over cold weather, but I can get behind a pretty landscape no matter what the temperature. I believe in being kind first and foremost. Although, I despise cockroaches - they are not part of my 'be kind' philosophy. I believe, the most important part of life, is making sure the people you love know that you love them by the way you treat them. I hope that is clear, in the way I live my life.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can find something you like here, and come visit again soon!
